The Armenian Students Organization and the Armenian Studies Program will once again join forces to host the 5th Annual Armenian Film Festival. Starting at 7 pm on Friday, March 19, 2004, movie goers can enjoy coffee, snacks and the best Armenian related films selected by a student committee composed of: Barseg Abanyan, Gevork Aristakesyan, Zhanna Bagdasarov, Marine Ekezyan, Kristina Pogosyan and Alyssa Sahakian.

For four years community members of all ages have gathered to watch movies and have a good time. Films will vary in theme, length and message. Student, as well as professional films will be screened. Members of the Armenian Students Organization will introduce each movie. Following the screening there will be a discussion of the movies.

The purpose of the Festival is to entertain as well as enlighten those who attend. There will be an opportunity for everyone to vote on his or her favorite film of the night, and the winner will be announced in the next Hye Sharzhoom.

The night will include a film by director Arthur Stepanian, entitled “Rebirth,” and Nigol Bezjian’s “Roads Full of Apricots.”

The 5th Annual Armenian Film Festival is funded by the Diversity Awareness Program of the University Student Union. Admission is free, so everyone is encouraged to come and have a fun time.
