When is the Right Time? House Delays Vote on Armenian Genocide

On October  10, 2007, the House Foreign Affairs Committee narrowly passed a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Passage of the resolution by the full House would mean officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide. Opposition to the resolution had primarily come from the White House and the State Department, along with lobbying by the Turkish government.
